Working the land, sowing, tilling, growing and then sunflowers in bloom: this is what accompanies this season from the early spring to the onset of autumn, crossing through a warm, sweet-smelling and colourful summer. Now is the time to discover not only the art treasures and architecture of Umbria, but also its parks, lakes, mountains, waterfalls… and you'll spend delightful evenings appreciating countless concerts, musical events, and food and wine-tasting opportunities (Umbria Jazz, Cagno Festival, Festival of Two Worlds...)

THE OLIVE SEASON
September/October/November

 

The heart and essence of Assisi and the land of St. Francis: the olive tree, symbol of peace but also of nature, well-being and culture. Set in the warm colours of autumn, the gift of oaks, ilexes, chestnuts and typical vegetation, you can visit wineries, oil mills, dairies and charcuterie producers around the area, discovering the taste of freshly-pressed olive oil and of new wine. The hills around Assisi will be a place for a stroll in search of mushrooms and truffles, or simply to find a view or an image you thought had long disappeared…
